येथील महात्मा फुले महाविद्यालयाच्या वतीने सहल प्रमुख डॉ. किरण गुट्टे यांच्या नेतृत्वाखाली दक्षिण भारताच्या ऐतिहासिक, सांस्कृतिक, सामाजिक भौगोलिक वैभवांसह इतर घटकांचा अभ्यास करण्यासाठी ‘ दक्षिण भारत अभ्यास’ अभियान मोहिमेचा प्रारंभ प्राचार्य डॉ. वसंत बिरादार पाटील यांनी या अभियानास हिरवा झेंडा दाखवून केला.
या बाबतचे सविस्तर वृत्त असे की, महात्मा फुले महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य डॉ. वसंत बिरादार पाटील यांच्या नेतृत्वाखालील शैक्षणिक तसेच समाजोपयोगी विविध नाविन्यपूर्ण उपक्रम राबविले जातात. याचाच एक भाग म्हणजे विविधतेने नटलेल्या भारताच्या वैभवाचा संशोधनात्मक अभ्यास करण्यासाठी अभ्यास मोहिमेचा प्रारंभ नुकताच करण्यात आला असून या मोहिमेत विजयपूर, बागलकोट, हॉस्पेट , हम्पी , हुबळीसह इतर ऐतिहासिक स्थळांना भेटी देऊन तेथील ऐतिहासिक भौगोलिक सामाजिक आणि सांस्कृतिक परिस्थितीचा चिकित्सक अभ्यास करण्यात येणार आहे.
या मोहिमेत महात्मा फुले महाविद्यालयाचे प्राचार्य डॉ. वसंत बिरादार पाटील,उपप्राचार्य डॉ. दुर्गादास चौधरी, सहलीचे नेतृत्व करणारे सहल प्रमुख डॉ. किरण गुट्टे, प्रोफेसर ह.भ.प. डॉ. अनिल मुंढे, डॉ. सतीश ससाणे, डॉ. मारोती कसाब, प्रोफेसर डॉ. नागराज मुळे, डॉ. पांडुरंग चिलगर, ग्रंथपाल प्रा. परमेश्वर इंगळे, डॉ. प्रशांत बिरादार, डॉ. प्रकाश चौकटे, डॉ. बी.के. मोरे, डॉ. सचिन गर्जे, डॉ. संतोष पाटील, प्रशांत डोंगळीकर, अजय मुरमुरे, चंद्रकांत धुमाळे, वामनराव मलकापुरे आदींचा समावेश आहे.
